It keeps happening again
A quick workaround got you through yesterday, but the same error, dropout or warning is back.
Personal IT support · Christchurch + remote NZ
Printer won’t print? Wi-Fi keeps dropping out? New laptop already driving you mad? I’ll get it working and explain what changed—in plain English.
A simple email is enough to start. No commitment. No pressure.
This is usually where it starts
You restarted it. Checked the cables. Watched a video. If the problem keeps coming back, it needs proper troubleshooting—not another guess.
A quick workaround got you through yesterday, but the same error, dropout or warning is back.
Your photos, documents and accounts matter. Clicking the wrong thing should not feel like a gamble.
An “easy fix” has already taken half the evening. Your time is worth more than another hour in the settings menu.
What good support feels like
I take the time to understand what’s actually happening, work through it carefully and explain the result in normal language. If the best answer is to replace something, contact your provider or leave it alone, I’ll tell you that too.

I will recommend remote or onsite support and confirm the starting cost before we book anything.
Your first email and a quick look at the problem are free. Paid work only begins once the approach is clear.
$50 / first hour
Phone or video support with screen sharing when appropriate.
$80 / first 60 minutes
For problems that need physical access to your equipment.
All prices are in New Zealand dollars. You are paying for professional diagnosis and troubleshooting time; Tidy Tech does not offer “no fix, no fee”.
How it works
You don’t need to know the technical name for the problem before getting in touch.
Tell me what is happening, what device is involved and what you have already tried. Screenshots are useful, but not essential.
I’ll let you know whether remote support or a Christchurch visit makes more sense, along with the starting price.
We work through the issue carefully. Nothing important is changed without your approval, and we test the result before finishing.
Your device, your data, your decision
Good IT support should feel calm and transparent. I explain the options, ask before making significant changes and never need you to email sensitive credentials.
Common questions
Tell me the device, what is going wrong, what you have already tried and a few times that suit you. If you want an onsite visit, include your Christchurch suburb. Do not send passwords, PINs or security codes.
Remote IT support is NZ$50 for the first hour, with a one-hour minimum charge. If more time is needed, it is NZ$25 for each additional 30 minutes, and I will ask before continuing.
No. Technology is frustrating when it does not work, and nobody knows everything. You will get patient help and a clear explanation without judgement or jargon.
No. Never email passwords, PINs, multi-factor authentication codes or recovery codes. You enter sensitive credentials yourself during the session.
Tidy Tech works by prior booking, mainly during evenings and weekends. It is not an emergency or 24/7 support service.
Onsite visits are available within the normal Christchurch service area. Include your suburb in the enquiry and I will confirm availability before booking.
You are paying for professional diagnosis and troubleshooting time. If a fix is not practical, I will explain what was found and recommend the most sensible next step.
Send the details to help@tidytech.co.nz. I’ll read through them and tell you the simplest way forward.
