A technology support professional helping a Christchurch customer with a laptop and Wi-Fi router

Personal IT support · Christchurch + remote NZ

When your tech stops working, everything else does too.

Printer won’t print? Wi-Fi keeps dropping out? New laptop already driving you mad? I’ll get it working and explain what changed—in plain English.

A simple email is enough to start. No commitment. No pressure.

This is usually where it starts

You’ve already tried the obvious. It still isn’t fixed.

You restarted it. Checked the cables. Watched a video. If the problem keeps coming back, it needs proper troubleshooting—not another guess.

It keeps happening again

A quick workaround got you through yesterday, but the same error, dropout or warning is back.

You are worried about making it worse

Your photos, documents and accounts matter. Clicking the wrong thing should not feel like a gamble.

You have better things to do

An “easy fix” has already taken half the evening. Your time is worth more than another hour in the settings menu.

What good support feels like

You finish knowing what was wrong—not just hoping it stays fixed.

I take the time to understand what’s actually happening, work through it carefully and explain the result in normal language. If the best answer is to replace something, contact your provider or leave it alone, I’ll tell you that too.

  • A clear diagnosisWe look for the cause, not just the quickest temporary fix.
  • Choices you can understandYou know the risks, cost and likely outcome before deciding.
  • A useful next stepEven when a fix is not practical, you will know what to do next.

How it works

Start with the messy version. I’ll help make sense of it.

You don’t need to know the technical name for the problem before getting in touch.

STEP 01

Send what you know

Tell me what is happening, what device is involved and what you have already tried. Screenshots are useful, but not essential.

STEP 02

Get a sensible plan

I’ll let you know whether remote support or a Christchurch visit makes more sense, along with the starting price.

STEP 03

Fix it and test it together

We work through the issue carefully. Nothing important is changed without your approval, and we test the result before finishing.

Your device, your data, your decision

You stay in control.

Good IT support should feel calm and transparent. I explain the options, ask before making significant changes and never need you to email sensitive credentials.

  • You enter your own passwords, PINs and security codes
  • I never operate your online banking
  • Backups are checked before resets or reinstalls
  • Approval comes before destructive changes
  • Temporary customer data is kept to a minimum
  • Uncertain outcomes are explained honestly
  • No password or security bypassing
  • No advanced data recovery or hardware repair

Common questions

Before you get in touch.

What should I include in my email?

Tell me the device, what is going wrong, what you have already tried and a few times that suit you. If you want an onsite visit, include your Christchurch suburb. Do not send passwords, PINs or security codes.

How much does remote support cost?

Remote IT support is NZ$50 for the first hour, with a one-hour minimum charge. If more time is needed, it is NZ$25 for each additional 30 minutes, and I will ask before continuing.

Will I be made to feel silly for not knowing something?

No. Technology is frustrating when it does not work, and nobody knows everything. You will get patient help and a clear explanation without judgement or jargon.

Do I need to send you my password?

No. Never email passwords, PINs, multi-factor authentication codes or recovery codes. You enter sensitive credentials yourself during the session.

When are appointments available?

Tidy Tech works by prior booking, mainly during evenings and weekends. It is not an emergency or 24/7 support service.

Which Christchurch areas do you visit?

Onsite visits are available within the normal Christchurch service area. Include your suburb in the enquiry and I will confirm availability before booking.

What if the problem cannot be fixed?

You are paying for professional diagnosis and troubleshooting time. If a fix is not practical, I will explain what was found and recommend the most sensible next step.

Stop losing time to a problem that should already be sorted.

Send the details to help@tidytech.co.nz. I’ll read through them and tell you the simplest way forward.
